Tuesday Night Pennant
Last Tuesday was the final round of our Night Pennant season.
Our second team finished of the season with a great win against Vermont South 82/52 and they were up until then serious finals contenders, a great finish to the season. This team included many new bowlers and lost quite a few close games, we hope all enjoyed the season
Our first team played Blackburn in the last game, the winner to play in the finals, we were well beaten on the night and slipped to finish third overall.
Both teams have played against some really good teams and bowlers and hopefully we have been able to learn from this and can narrow the gap next year.
Special thank you to all those bowlers who stepped in to fill gaps and keep us on the green during the season.
Well done to all involved.

RVBA Pennant Finals NoticeTHE JOURNEY FOR 2009/2010 IS OVER.
Congratulations to the Fourth team – a truly great season and final series.
Ø Won Saturday 27th February defeating Ringwood by 13 shots
Ø Won again on Sunday 28th February, defeating Mooroolbark by 18 shots – now the SECTION WINNERS
Ø Quarter Finals for Division 7, Saturday 6th, washed out with rain and ice after 48 ends with score Donvale 48 vs. Brighton 50. Resumed Sunday morning after green was tidied up from leaves and rubbish and finish game on an 11.5 second green. Immediately took control of the game and powered on to win Donvale 115 vs. Brighton 73.
Ø The journey ends!!
After defeating Brighton in the morning at Ashburton our team transferred to Cheltenham Bowls Club, to play Keysborough in the semi finals. However as the afternoon game unfolded, the extra 13 ends played on heavy greens in the morning started to impact. After tea Keysborough got the upper hand and went on to win, Keysborough 102 vs. Donvale 86.
Keysborough having finished their game on the Saturday proved the stronger team as the game progressed.
Congratulations to Donvale 4 – a really determined effort, by a focused team, enjoying the moment and looking to grab their chance. Committed to the task and playing with enthusiasm and total support for each other.
Special mention to Jim Hampton, who admirably fulfilled the duties of “team manager” and provided support and guidance to the team; also Joy Riley who as the emergency player followed the progress of the team and did not cause injury anyone to get a game.
Well done also to the large contingent of Donvale supporters, who supported our teams during the finals, especially the fourth team as their travel and journey unfolded.
Thanks you to all involved.
GO DONVALE!!
