2. The Men’s Singles final was played today 3 January in somewhat hot and testing conditions between Lindsay Ridgwell & Mike Brown.

Lindsay began well and soon opened up a lead of 5/6 shots and he gradually increased this to 13 when he lead Mike 20/7. However, Mike was not done with yet & in a determined fight back he closed the gap to 5 shots with the score at 21/16. At this stage it looked like he might overrun the early leader but it was not to be with Lindsay gaining the necessary shots on the next 3 ends to win 25/16 in an impressive display of draw bowling.

Congratulations to our winner Lindsay Ridgwell who will now represent the club in Yarra Regions Champion of Champions Singles on  Sunday 5 February 2012.

4. Men’s Pairs Championship Final was completed last night with the Jason Manifold/Barry Ferguson combination defeating the Dennis Johnson/Eddie Azzopardi duo 13/12.

The game was of high standard with little between the teams throughout. The lead changed a number of times and despite Eddie killing the last end to force a replay Barry & Jason managed to hang on and win by the narrowest of margins. Standout players in the final were Jason and Eddie.

Barry & Jason will now represent the club in the Yarra Region Champion of Champions on Sunday 12 February at Alphington BC.
